Our Lady of Lourdes Sleep Disorders Center was the first accredited sleep disorders center in Acadiana beginning in 1997, and today maintains its high marks in credentialing. As an accredited center, we provide the latest technology and expertise to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. We have six comfortable bedroom suites with private bathrooms so sleep study patients can groom, dress and be ready to leave for the next morning's routine. We provide state of the art equipment and three (3) registered sleep technologist on staff. We also provide private, sound and light attenuated bedrooms with video monitoring using infrared and low light cameras to record every type of sleep disorder and a centralized control room with staff in attendance for all night on-line monitoring.

 What is a sleep study?The procedure usually requires two consecutive nights which are done as an outpatient. Arrival time is 9:00pm. The study consists of non-invasive monitors that record your brainwaves, heart activity, blood oxygen level, breathing and muscle movement during sleep. The study ends at approximately 6:30am. The physician sleep disorders specialist reviews the results of the first night’s study and then you are free to leave. You return for the second night at 9:00pm.
